Use these instructions for the selected account when it offers the feature and controls described below.
The Archive list lets you select conversations to unarchive or delete. Deletion has a separate confirmation and is described as irreversible.
Before you start
Identify which archived conversations you want to restore or delete. Read the deletion warning carefully before confirming any removal.
Steps
- Open the Archive list in Chats and find the conversation you want to manage. Use its search control if needed.
- Select the conversations using their checkboxes, or choose Select all.
- To return selected conversations from the archive, choose Unarchive.
- To remove selected conversations, choose Delete. Check the number of selected chats in the confirmation.
- Choose No, cancel to keep them, or Yes, delete chats to confirm. The completion state shows Chats deleted and the remaining conversations.
What to expect
After unarchiving, inspect the conversation list for the selected chats. After deletion, check Chats deleted and the remaining selection; deletion is separate from cancelling a payment.
If something does not work
- The confirmation warns that deleted chats cannot be recovered. Check the selection before confirming.
- If you only want to take a conversation out of the archive, use Unarchive.
- Deleting a conversation is not a payment-cancellation action. Check the transaction record separately for payment issues.
