The transaction record is the place to check what happened after you submitted a payment. A confirmation screen, a pending entry, and a completed transaction are different states.
Before you start
Find the account or wallet used for the payment and its transaction record.
Steps
- Open Transactions or recent activity for the relevant account or wallet, then open the payment.
- Read the status and Status timeline. Compare the initiated, processing, confirmed, completed, rejected, or returned events that appear for that payment.
- For a crypto transfer, read the network status as well as the account status. Confirmed on-chain, posting to your account and Awaiting account posting explain why a transfer can remain Pending after network confirmation.
- For a bank transfer, inspect the payment method and any bank reason or processing explanation shown.
- Use the reference appropriate to the method when asking for help: ACH trace number, Fed reference (IMAD), SWIFT UETR, or crypto transaction hash, when available.
- Review the fee and total-debit information on the same record. A tracking or receipt page can supplement the record, but does not replace checking the current account status.
Expected result
You can read the current transaction state, references, amount and fees together rather than relying only on a receipt or tracking view.
If something does not work
- If you cannot find the payment, check the selected account and any active filters.
- If you are unsure whether a payment was submitted, check activity before creating another one.
