A card limit is separate from the account balance and any account-level limit. The web card page shows spending so far and the monthly limit when one is set.
Before you start
Select the card and review its existing monthly spending limit and amount spent.
Steps
- Open Cards, select the card, and inspect Spending limit and the amount already spent this month.
- Choose Set limit or Edit to open Edit monthly limit.
- Enter the monthly amount and review the already-spent figure before choosing Save.
- Check the updated limit and remaining amount on the card. The web screen explains that reaching the card limit causes card declines and the limit resets on the first of the month.
- To remove the card limit, choose Remove in the limit dialog and check the Spending limit removed result.
- Read No spending limit carefully: the displayed explanation says spending remains bounded by the linked account balance.
Expected result
The card shows the saved monthly limit or No spending limit state. Read the linked-balance restriction and check payment status separately.
If something does not work
- If a card payment is declined, check the card status, remaining card limit, and linked-account available balance.
- Removing a card limit does not create additional funds in the linked account.
