Use these instructions for the selected account when it offers the feature and controls described below.
Identity information and a nickname are separate settings. Changes to legal details can require supporting documents.
Before you start
Use accurate information for the intended account. Provide supporting identity documents only through a confirmed secure verification or upload method.
Steps
- Open Profile, then Account. Choose Identity details for legal information or Nickname for your display handle.
- For Identity details, enter your app passcode when requested. Review legal first/middle names, last names, date of birth, country of residence, state, city, address lines and phone number.
- Enter the changes and choose Save. Read the notice that the information must match your official documents and that you will need to provide proof.
- Choose Yes, change to proceed with that request, or Cancel to return without confirming it. Follow any document request actually provided by the app.
- For Nickname, enter the new value in the @ field and choose Save.
What to expect
For identity information, distinguish a submitted change request from completed verification. For a nickname change, check the profile value after saving.
If something does not work
- A submitted identity change is not proof that the new information has completed verification.
- The nickname form does not establish that every handle is available or permitted.
- Log out and Delete account are separate Account entries; changing profile details does not trigger those actions.
